SK domain and problems with the new system

The administrator of the national domain SK-NIC, a.s., plans to launch not only the new rules for registering SK domains, but also the launch of a new system for registrars. However, the start date was postpon for the umpteenth time.

Officially, the system was suppos to be launch already on 1/1/2017. Then the date was chang to the last day in May and now to the beginning of September 2017. According to the SK-NIC press release of 5/18/2017, the reason for the change of date was that until 5% of registrars have currently test the new system. More of them should also have express that they are not yet ready for the new system or that they are worri about completing all the tasks.

Registrars could only start testing the system from March
It should be not that registrars had the opportunity to test the system only from March 13, when they could apply for migration to the new system. According to some, however, the system has relatively serious technical shortcomings.

Registration rules are outdat

at the level of the ne for notarization. The technical condition these days cannot be call anything other than desperate. For many years, despite constant requests, the administrator has not come up with either technical iraq phone number data modifications or changes to the rules. In neighboring countries, it is clear that diametrically different services can be perform for much lower prices,” recall Milan Behro, director of CZECHIA.COM, a leading Czech registrar.

A similarly unprofessional approach is unheard of by European standards, practically all administrators of national domains do absolutely clear and professional work. The question remains whether, after these repeat complications, this will also be the case with the administrator of the Slovak national domain. These events shake the confidence of many registrars in SK-NIC’s ability to manage the .sk domain. Of course, the changes do not only concern domain registrars, but also the clients themselves – to date, according to SK-NIC, over 360,000 domains with this ending are register.

“Despite the effort to promote a transparent

Czech solution on the FR system, which was promot by all current registrars without exception, the administrator actually declar an in-house solution, which, after two postponements of the deployment dates, was chang to the current CentralNIC system without your parameter collection allows consultation, 2 months before the expect migration. However, the change that is occurring is characteriz by unprofessionalism, where the system changes under the hands, from the own solution to the supplier system, deadlines are not met, SK-NIC does not recognize any of its failures bz lists and repeatly accuses the registrars of being unprepar,” said irector of SLOVAKNET.sk , Slovak domain registrar and internet service provider.
